LOCKPORT, NY-- The Niagara County Sheriff's Department announced they will participate in a special effort to crack down on DWI's Labor Day Weekend.
The effort across the state of New York looks to stop impaired driving, prevent injuries and save lives. The statewide enforcement will begin August 17 and run until September 3.
Along with the Niagara County Sheriff's Department, law enforcement agencies from around Niagara County will be out in force.
The STOP-DWI Labor Day Weekend Crackdown is one of many ways statewide enforcement initiatives promoted by the New York State STOP-DWI Association with additional funding from the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee.
