Delicia Cordon, LeSean McCoy’s former girlfriend who was the victim of a beating and robbery on July 10 at a home owned by McCoy, will hold a press conference Friday afternoon according to a news release issued by her attorney, Tanya Mitchell Graham.
At that time, Cordon will announce that she is offering an award of $20,000 for anyone who has “information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who entered into her former residence, beat her in her face with a handgun, hit her cousin in the back of the head with a handgun, and stole her jewelry.”
According to the news release, “Ms. Cordon’s life is forever affected by this incident, and the assailant who committed the home invasion, armed robbery, and aggravated battery, along with all individuals involved, must be brought to justice.”
McCoy, who has denied any involvement in the incident, had been trying to evict Cordon from the property for months. Cordon has suspected from the beginning that McCoy arranged for the home invasion, but a police investigation of the incident in the Atlanta suburb of Milton, Georgia has not yet proven that he had anything to do with it.
The release went on to say, “A heinously violent assailant remains at-large, and it is imperative that authorities be immediately informed of any new pertinent information regarding this matter. Ms. Cordon strongly believes that Mr. McCoy was involved in this crime, and she has never wavered on that belief. The violent nature of Mr. McCoy is well-documented, and he believes he can continue his abhorrent behavior with impunity.”
The release then went on to reiterate Cordon’s contention that McCoy is abusive to his son. “Ms. Cordon has witnessed Mr. McCoy physically abuse his son from another relationship, as well as his dog. Ms. Cordon is further aware of Mr. McCoy’s penchant for demanding the return of expensive jewelry and gifts from multiple women at the end of a relationship. Mr. McCoy has a history of attempting to resale the gifts he had previously given to a girlfriend, to friends or teammates. There is no doubt in Ms. Cordon’s mind that Mr. McCoy had some involvement with the attack.”
On Tuesday, the case against McCoy took a new turn when the mother of his 6-year-old son, Stephanie Maisonet, filed a sworn affidavit in support of a lawsuit Cordon filed against McCoy last month.
In that affidavit, Maisonet backed Cordon’s accusations that McCoy has beaten his son, and she also seems to concur with Cordon that McCoy was involved in the arrangement of the home invasion, offering specific details including her overhearing him say during a phone conversation with someone the day before the robbery, “I need to get this bitch out of my house.”
Maisonet said in her affidavit, “He should not get away with potentially orchestrating this heinous incident.”
Wednesday, McCoy continued to deny all involvement, and denounced the charges that he has ever abused his son.
“It’s ridiculous; I love my son,” McCoy said in speaking to reporters for the first time since Maisonet’s affidavit was made public. “Anyone who knows me or sees me around with my boy, they know the type of relationship we have. I can’t really speak on it, but it’s ridiculous. When we’re in court, we’ll see what happens.
“In this world with social media,” McCoy continued, “you can say what you want and the cameras, they take it and run with it. I can’t control that. The only thing I can control is being a great dad. That’s all I can do. These people have so much to gain by doing this. I’m not going to spend too much time even talking about it, it’s crazy, it’s ridiculous. Everything I do is for my little man, my son. If I didn’t care, I wouldn’t be fighting for custody.”
In addressing McCoy’s denials, the news release says, “Mr. McCoy claims that he was not involved in the home invasion and attack that occurred in a home that he owns, but he has vehemently refused to participate in the investigation or cooperate with the authorities. His actions before and subsequent to the home invasion do not reflect the actions of an individual who was not involved.”
