Large police presence at Pierce Avenue home in Niagara Falls

Police say the investigation 'is in no way related to the current occupant of this residence.'

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — 2 On Your Side is working to learn more about a large police presence at a home in the north end of Niagara Falls.

A Niagara Falls Police Crime Scene Investigation truck could be seen for much of the day Friday outside a home on Pierce Avenue.

When reached out to for comment, Niagara County District Attorney Caroline Wojtaszek said it's part of an on-going investigation on a case that occurred before the current occupants moved in.

On Friday evening, the Niagara Falls Police Department issued a statement:

"The Niagara Falls Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division and Crime Scene Unit are currently conducting an investigation at a private residence at 1526 Pierce Ave in Niagara Falls, N.Y. The investigation involves the property at that location and is in no way related to the current occupant of this residence. At this time, there is no other information that will be released regarding this ongoing investigation."
