Driver sentenced to probation for causing fatal crash

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo woman was sentenced to five years probation for her role in a deadly crash.

investigators say Aleia Easley, 23, and another woman fled in a vehicle from the Save-A-Lot on Rossler Avenue in Cheektowaga, after they were accused of stealing items from the store.

Easley was driving at a high-rate of speed when she drove through a red light and crashed into another vehicle at Rossler Avenue and Dingens Street. 

Easley's passenger, Jacquelyn McClain, 21, of Buffalo was ejected from the vehicle and died from her injuries. Easley suffered serious injuries. 

Easley pleaded guilty to one count of Manslaughter in the Second Degree in October 2019.
