BUFFALO, NY - A local business owner has thousands of dollars to repay after pleading guilty to scamming over 50 customers Monday.
According to the Erie County DA's Office, Classic Lumber and Fencer Owner, Frederick DeNormand, 74, of Pendleton, pleaded guilty to one count of first degree scheme to defraud - a class E felony.
DeNormand admitted Monday to failing to provide fence installation services for over 50 customers whom he accepted payments from, between May 2016 and September 2017.
DeNormand must now pay back $138,573 to those he scammed, and he faces a maximum of four years behind bars when he is sentenced in September.
