Cheektowaga man sentenced for bank robbery

BUFFALO, N.Y. - A Cheektowaga man was sentenced to 180 months in jail for a bank robbery he committed in March 2017.

Thomas Cascio, 52, entered the Key Bank at 5200 Main Street in Amherst passed a note to a teller informing the teller that it was a robbery note.

According to police, Cascio walked into the bank wearing a hard hat, safety vest and eye protection goggles.

Cascio has a previous history of bank robberies dating back to 2000 when he robbed four banks. He served 48 months in prison for those previous robberies and in 2009 for another bank robbery - he served two years in prison for that robbery.
