BATAVIA, N.Y. — A Batavia woman faces a list of animal cruelty charges, according to New York State Police.
Troopers arrested Becky L. Frens, 56, on July 10th for allegedly torturing and injuring animals and failing to provide adequate food and water.
Animals control officers called State Police to the Genesee County Animal Shelter where Frens was trying to claim a dog.
The dog was found the day before and was diagnosed with multiple skin infections, mange, and double ear infections. The dog's nails were so long it couldn't walk.
Frens was arrested. The dog was left in the care of the shelter.
Frens was given appearance tickets and is due back in court later this month.
