AMBER ALERT in Genesee County for missing 14-year-old has been canceled

An AMBER ALERT was issued for a child abduction in Genesee County Thursday.

BYRON, NY-- An AMBER ALERT was issued for a child abduction in Genesee County Thursday.

The child, Kamerie E. Elliot, 14, was reported abducted on West Bergen Road in Byron, NY around 8am today.

Elliot is described as a white female, with brown hair (currently dyed blue) and hazel eyes. She is about 4'11" tall and weighs about 140 lbs.

The suspect is identified as Guillermo Torres-Acevedo. He is a Hispanic male, about 22 years old. He has black hair and brown eyes. He is about 5'6" tall and weighs 180 lbs.

The suspect vehicle is a blue, SUV Dodge Journey with NY license plate HHP5458. It was last seen traveling north on West Bergen Road.

State Police have confirmed to 2 On Your Side Guillermo Torres-Acevedo, 22, was arrested by troopers on November 26. He was charged with rape 2nd, criminal sex act, endangering welfare of a child.

State Police say they received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on November 8. They investigated and that led to Torres-Acevedo's arrest a few days ago. He had been jailed on $5,000 bail. The alleged victim in that case is 14-years-old. Investigators have not said if these are two separate incidents, or if they are related.
