"Coaches Kicking Cancer" to benefit Roswell Park

14 teams from across Western New York are taking part in the "Coaches Kicking Cancer" invitational this weekend at the Sweet Home High School stadium.

AMHERST, N.Y. — Local soccer teams are trying to help find a cure for cancer, one goal at a time.

14 teams from across Western New York are taking part in the "Coaches Kicking Cancer" invitational this weekend at the Sweet Home High School stadium. All of the proceeds raised during the event will benefit Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.

"I was a patient there, as well as some of the other soccer coaches and officials, so we brought it a little bit closer to home this year with Roswell," Ryan McCaffery, Sweet Home High Boys Varsity soccer coach, said.

There were seven games on Friday and there will be seven games on Saturday.

Admission is free, but donations to Roswell be accepted at the entrance gates.
