TONAWANDA, N.Y. - Sunday marks the official start of the annual Canal Fest of the Tonawandas.

The week-long festival begins Sunday with an opening ceremony at noon on the Renaissance Bridge.

If you are looking for things to do and see if you attend the Canal Fest, there are no shortage of events, contests and activities.

The festival schedule includes a chalk art contest, a talent show, live music and the "Charles Fleischman" Canal Fest parade, which takes place Tuesday.

The festival ends Sunday July 22nd with the 36th Annual Canal Fest "Grand Finale" fireworks.
