BUFFALO, N.Y. — Residents turned out for an evening of fun at the annual Lovejoy District picnic.

Those who attended enjoyed food, live entertainment, and meeting their fellow neighbors. However, this picnic was open to more than just Lovejoy residents.

"In the years past, each neighborhood would be upset if I did something in a particular neighborhood. So I said I've got to bring everybody together," Buffalo Common Council member Rich Fontana said. "And it's terrific because people from Schiller Park get to meet with people in Kaisertown, and talk about things. They meet together with their block club leadership. And it's just a great night out."

This was the 22nd year for the community picnic.
