More Spectrum customers switch to all-digital

This switch-over only impacts televisions that you plug into the wall in order to get Spectrum cable...basically, that setup won't work anymore.

BUFFALO, NY - More Spectrum customers made the switch to all-digital Tuesday.

This switch-over only impacts televisions that you plug into the wall in order to get Spectrum cable...basically, that setup won't work anymore. But you have a few options.

First, you can lease a cable box for every television- which could add up. Spectrum charges $6.99 a month per receiver, although there are some promotional deals. Most customers will get one for free for one year.

If you'd prefer, you can avoid that extra cost and use the Spectrum app on TVs without boxes. The best device to use is ROKU. You just download the spectrum app, sign in, and get the guide, and you can watch live TV plus on-demand programs.

The final option - at least for Channel 2 and other broadcast stations - is to purchase a digital antenna, and you can watch us for free. For those do it yourselfers, you can always build your own antenna by following the directions here.
