BUFFALO, N.Y. — Dwindling readership and advertising support has prompted the Buffalo News to end the run of two of its suburban weekly newspapers and merge two others into a single publication.

The Twin Cities (Tonawanda) Sun and Lancaster-Depew Sun will fold Jan. 22, while the West Seneca Sun and Orchard Park Sun will merge into one paper. The Hamburg Sun will be unchanged.

“We’ve known some of the Sun papers have been struggling, but this is a terrible way to start off the new year,” said Sandra Tan, Buffalo Newspaper Guild/CWA Local 31026 president and a Buffalo News reporter. You can read the full story on Buffalo Business First's website.
