Perry's Ice Cream enters Ohio with $6.3 million investment in distribution, sponsorships

The ice cream maker has 257 employees at its headquarters and manufacturing facility in Akron and about 360 workers overall.

AKRON, N.Y. — Perry's Ice Cream Company Inc. continues to push the regional boundaries of its brand, with plans to spend this year becoming fully immersed in leading markets throughout Ohio.

The ice cream maker has 257 employees at its headquarters and manufacturing facility in Akron and about 360 workers overall. It plans to invest $6.3 million this year in Ohio, the company said Wednesday in a news release.

The plans include an expanded distribution network – with 49 newly created jobs in Ohio – along with a major marketing push. The company has signed a five-year partnership with the Columbus Clippers minor league baseball team to sell custard at its home stadium, Huntington Park. It will also either sponsor or appear at the 2019 Willoughby Rib Burn Off (Cleveland), Kamm’s Corner Fest (Cleveland), the Cleveland National Air Show, Columbus Jazz & Rib Fest, and Ohio State Fair.   You can read the full article on Buffalo Business First's website
