BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Sheehan Residence, one of the signature properties on the market by the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo, has been sold to an investment group affiliated with the Frontier Group of Cos.

Mingo Junction Steel Works LLC paid $1.3 million for the historic Linwood Avenue recretory-turned-residence. The deal closed Thursday and is the first of two high-profile real estate transactions involving the diocese. The sale of the Bishop’s residence on Oakland Place is expected to close in the next few weeks, sources said.

As for Mingo Junction, the plan is to renovate the top two floors of the three-story, 17,300-square-foot building into 10 market-rate apartments — a mix of one- and two-bedroom units, said Craig Slater, Frontier’s attorney.  You can read the full article on Buffalo Business First's website.
