BUFFALO, N.Y. — M&T Bank has decided to temporarily pause construction projects, including the Tech Hub initiative in the Seneca One Tower in downtown Buffalo.

"We remain committed to our vision for Seneca One," a bank spokeswoman said in a statement. "Construction will resume as soon as it is deemed safe for workers to return to the job site. We will complete the project as quickly as possible and look forward to occupying the space later this year."

M&T is the showcase in the skyscraper's $120 million rehabilitation. The bank will lease 11 upper floors and a pair of western plaza wings, space that will house thousands of bank technologists as part of a plan to create more than 1,000 jobs.
