More Walden Galleria woes: Gap sued by mall parent over rent money owed

The parties first entered into a lease in 2002, according to the complaint. It was amended in 2012 and expires on Oct. 31, 2023.

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — Gap is the latest Walden Galleria tenant substantially behind on rent, according to a lawsuit filed this week by the mall’s parent company.

Pyramid Walden Company LP filed the suit against Gap Inc. on Feb. 16 in State Supreme Court in Erie County. According to the complaint, Gap owed $455,020 in past due rent as of Jan. 27.

The complaint said Pyramid sent Gap a notice of default on Jan. 27 that said legal action would commence within 10 days if the situation was not remedied.
