BUFFALO, N.Y. — Independent Health has launched a new affiliated company to manage health care for members with chronic health conditions.
WNY Coordinated Medical Care PC is a for-profit, captive private company focused on linking members to local physicians and health care providers through the new Care for You program, an in-home medical care supplement.
It’s a similar program to the service offered by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of WNY, which contracts with California-based Landmark Health. In this case, all care is provided by locally based and independently employed health care professionals.
