LOCKPORT, N.Y. — General Motors announced that it is sending new work to its Components Holdings factory in Lockport.

The Upper Mountain Road plant, once in danger of closing, now has more than 1,400 employees. It is unique in that it competes against other GM factories and outside companies for business, rather than simply executing corporate plans.

The factory has "secured new business to supply several powertrain thermal components for an important future General Motors high volume vehicle," the company said in a news release. "The additional work strengthens Lockport's portfolio of precision components that includes radiators, condensers, heater cores and oil coolers."  You can read the full story on Buffalo Business First's website.
