California investors pay $15.9 million for Amherst apartments

AMHERST, N.Y. — A suburban apartment complex has become the first local investment by a Santa Monica, California-based REIT - real estate investment trust.

Sutton Place of Amherst LLC paid $15.925 million for the 246-unit Sutton Place Apartments, according to documents filed in the Erie County Clerk’s office.

The complex, built in 1973, had been owned by Affinity Sutton Place L.P., a group headed by Cheektowaga-headquartered Chason Affinity.  You can read the full story on Buffalo Business First's website
