Betting on the Bills? You can do it legally in these NFL playoffs

The Senecas have sports books open at all three of their casinos, in time for first NFL wild card playoff weekend since the law changed.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — There's something different about Saturday's Bills playoff game than any one we've ever seen before.

Specifically, you'll be able to legally bet on it here in New York.

The Senecas have sports books open at all three of their casinos now, and they're expecting some action on the first NFL wild card playoff weekend since the law changed.

And it's not just the winner you can bet on. There's plenty more too.

"We have a total of 183 different prop bets right now posted," said Gavin Mercado, the executive director of Sportsbooks. "So you can bet on rushing yards, passing yards, how many touchdowns a player's going to score. Is the game going into overtime? How many field goals will be kicked during the game?"

So here's your betting primer: the Bills are two and a half point underdogs. If you bet on them and they lose by two or one, you can win, even if they lose.

The over-under is 43.5, so you can bet whether the total points from both teams is above or below that.

And then there's all the prop bets, such as Devin Singletary gaining more or less than 85.5 yards, or wild ones such as the first score being a safety, which pays out $5,000 on a $100 bet if you get the team right.
