African Heritage Food Co-op to open flagship location in Buffalo

The goal is to bring healthy, affordable food to neighborhoods, reinvest in the community and give locals the opportunity for ownership.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — After some pandemic-related delays, the African Heritage Food Co-op will open a flagship location in August 2023 in Buffalo.

The 8,500-square-foot, multi-floored spot will be at 238 Carlton Ave., Buffalo, joining the Niagara Falls store at 2616 Highland Ave. and a Buffalo garden at 132 Edison Ave.

Co-op President Alexander J. Wright said his group also operates a mobile produce market, a children’s entrepreneurship program and Black Business Bazaars. The goal is to bring healthy, affordable food to neighborhoods, reinvest in the community and give locals the opportunity for ownership.
