Opening Night of Hamilton was extra special for one couple

2 On Your Side caught word of a special engagement plan ahead of 'Hamilton' opening night at Shea's!

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Broadway hit 'Hamilton' made its debut at Shea's downtown Tuesday evening. And for one couple, the occasion was extra sweet.

"So being season ticket holders with Shea's [...] over the years we've developed relationships with the people that sit around us," one 'Hamilton' attendee, Colleen Proehl, told 2 On Your Side. "And there's these two lovely young ladies that sit in front of us, who we have fun with during the shows and after. Tonight, well...a couple days ago, I got a note from one of them that she wanted to propose to her girlfriend!"

And so, Proehl divulged the plan. She had a copy of the 'Hamilton' program with a special engagement note inside. She told us the plan was to hand the program to the woman being proposed to, as her partner got the ring out.

"Fingers crossed that she says yes and that all is well, and I'm so proud and happy to be a part of this relationship," Proehl gushed outside Shea's.

The couple wanted to keep their names left out for personal and professional reasons, but nevertheless, 2 On Your Side congratulates the couple on this next chapter!
