Oishei Children's Hospital brings Christmas to patient

There was Christmas joy brought into one patient's room on Tuesday.

Christmas came early for one special patient at John R. Oishei's Children Hospital.

16-month-old Mikey was born prematurely at Women and Children's Hospital last year and was transferred to the new hospital during the big move.

Since he is spending his second Christmas in the intensive care unit, his mom and hospital staff spruced up his room in order to bring him Christmas cheer.

"We knew that we weren't going to be able to get him home for Christmas because of the emergency surgery," said Mike Barron, Mikey's dad. "So, we figured if we couldn't get Mikey home for Christmas, we'd bring Christmas to Mikey."

And as you can imagine, the decorations have been a big hit with staff and visitors to the 10th floor of Children's Hospital.
