WEST SENECA, NY - 484 hand painted rocks.
That's what awaited kids who came out for the Rockin' Egg Hunt in West Seneca Saturday morning.
Laurie Ehlenfield, with We Rock Out Cancer said, "Kids are coming and purchasing eggs that are hidden in the fields. They bring it back to the table, they find a hand-crafted painted rock. There were seven members on my team, we painted 484 rocks [...] We did this primarily through Sweet Buffalo Rocks, we're all a member of the group."
All proceeds for the event are going to a 10-year-old boy from Alden: Tj Strong, who is battling stage 4 brain cancer.
According to Ehlenfield, the Strong family may have to seek treatment out of town soon.
With a goal of $2,000 for the Egg Hunt, We Rock Out Cancer hopes the event will help the Strong's with their expenses.
