NIAGARA FALLS, NY - Outdoor ice skating is coming back to the Falls this holiday season, giving Western New Yorkers another place to enjoy the fun.

The rink will be located at the intersection of First Street and Rainbow Boulevard in Niagara Falls from November 30 through the holiday season, thanks to Jingle Falls USA 2018, the Merani Hotel Group, the Niagara River Greenway Commission, and the City of Niagara Falls and its City Counsel.

The Niagara Falls Community Development department announced in September they were looking for competitive proposals for an operator and programmer for the future outdoor ice skating rink.

"A group effort has created a new family friendly attraction in our city without local taxpayer expense," said Seth Piccirillo, Director of Community Development for the City of Niagara Falls.

Skating at the rink will cost $8, along with a $4 skate rental fee, according to NFCD, with the Anchor Bar food truck on site with warm beverages and winter accessories for sale.

The schedule for the rink is as follows:

  • Monday 4 - 8 p.m.
  • Tuesday 4 - 8 p.m.
  • Wednesday 4 - 8 p.m.
  • Thursday 4 - 8 p.m.
  • Friday 4 - 10 p.m. (during Christmas break 12 -10 p.m.)
  • Saturday 12 - 10 p.m.
  • Sunday 12 - 8 p.m.

The rink will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
