BUFFALO, N.Y. - Another tradition that usually happens after Thanksgiving; people diving right into the holiday season and getting out there to buy their Christmas trees.
Many local tree farms and garden centers expecting big crowds this weekend to get their holiday decorations, trees, and fresh wreaths.
2 On Your Side visited the Northtown Garden Center on Sheridan Drive in Kenmore to catch up with the owner and see how business has been going so far this season and get tips for keeping a fresh tree.
"If you're not putting it up within a couple of hours when you leave the tree lot, you shouldn't have a fresh cut put on it, because it will seal up and water won't go up into the tree as easy. So just make sure, before you put the tree up, if you're putting it up right from here, you know, two hours, great. We'll out a fresh cut on for ya, but if not, do it at home yourself," said Jeff Domin, owner of Northtown Garden Center.
By the way, a freshly cut tree should last about a month with proper hydration.
