Prognosticating critters and a football game of great interest

Festival Fest gets you ready for a big weekend with a double dose of ... whatever this is.

This is Festival Fest! We've got a cold week to get through with a big weekend ahead so here are a few events happening.

Saturday is Groundhog Day and people just love having their weather predicted by an animal whether it’s a woodchuck or a hedgehog or a porcupine or a tortoise.

Here's hoping the prognosticating critters see a warm future ahead. We could use it with all of this Arctic air!

Experience the Magic of Air at Lumagination 2019 the Botanical Gardens, an exhibit of lights and colors and kites and more. It’s a feast for the eyes and runs until February 23.

Casino for a Cause by the BOGO Bunch is happening at the Town Ball Room February 2nd.

2019’s Halfway to Run 716 Runner’s Social is also happening on February 2nd at Flying Bison Brewery.

A 50s/60s Dance is happening at the Sons of the American Legion Post 735 and Vigilant Fire Company February 2nd in West Seneca.

Once a Falcon Always a Falcon takes off Friday, February 1st to celebrate the pride of Niagara Wheatfield High at 7pm at Niagara Active Hose.

And MEAT RAFFLE ALERT! There’s one in Lackawanna at the Moose Lodge at 5437 Broadway on February 2nd.

They're doing Ice Cream for Breakfast at the Warsaw Moose Club February 2nd from 8 am to noon. I mean, why not? Snow shmow!

Plus! Maroon 5 is playing at halftime of a football game of great interest on Sunday too. Pass the bean dip!

And that’s Festival Fest: the greatest thing to happen to Monday since the 3-day weekend. If you missed anything go to wgrz.com. If you have an event to share send it to festivalfest@wgrz.com.

Have a great week!
