Kavinoky Theatre awarded $145,000 for improvements

They will use funding for a Broadway-style covered entryway, as well as updated seats and a new projection system.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — One of Buffalo's local theaters will be getting a face-lift in the new year.

The Kavinoky Theatre was recently awarded $145,000 for on-going improvements. This is all thanks to a grant from the Regional Economic Development Council, a division of New York State.

The theater, located on D'Youville College's campus, will use the funding to construct a Broadway-style entryway, as well as to install new seats, a new projection system and to enhance and expand productions.

The theater is currently preparing for a production of "The Bridges of Madison County," which opens next week.
