Kate Fights Your Monday Blues with a Blue Buffalo

Kate Welshofer's Festival Fest is the best thing to happen to Mondays since the three-day weekend. Start the workweek by planning out your next weekend and find out more about the mysterious creature on Channel 2's roof.

This is Week Two of July Festival Fest!

If you don't know, Festival Fest is the thing I do where I talk about all the things to do in Western New York this summer. I do it on Mondays because Mondays have a reputation for being sad unless you're on vacation or retired or Shia LeBeouf.

This week's celebration of fun began on the roof of Channel 2 with our mystery guest--the blue buffalo. We don't know much about him except he is a blue buffalo, which is also a pet food brand so he's at least grounds for a potential copyright infringement lawsuit.

We don't know for sure but I'm told we'll find out on July 16th, 7/16, 7-1-6!
Stay tuned.

In the meantime, here's some stuff to do.

We're getting started at the Darwin Martin House--beautiful, historic, treasured and I know what you're thinking?

"Kate, can I drink there?"

Frank Lloyd Wright you can!

Bricks and Brews: Outdoor Beer Fest features local breweries and cideries, food trucks and live music. It's Friday, July 13th 6 to 9.

Keep the party going down in Watkins Glen for the Finger Lakes Wine Festival. 80 wineries are featured along with artisans it runs July 13th through the 15th.

Who?! Wants?! Meatballs?!

The always crowd-pleasing Galbani Italian Heritage Festival runs from July 12 - 15th featuring all things delicious and Daybreak's Stephanie Barnes defending her cheese stacking title. (Check out the video to see her epic performance.)

We'll cheddar her on! Gouda luck!

Looking a little farther ahead the Chautauqua County Fair gets underway July 16th

Waldfest is July 15th. It looks a lot like Oktoberfest in July and that is good enough for me.

My hometown of Perry holds its Chalk Art Festival July 14th.

And finally--while Canada still likes us pass the poutine and get on board for the Friendship Festival at Mather's Arch Park July 12th through the 15th.

That's Festival Fest!

The best thing to happen to Mondays since the three-day weekend. See you next week!
