This Weekend's Events

Check out some fun events taking place February 15th through February 17th.

SPORTS: 

On the ice Friday, the Buffalo Sabres take on the New York Rangers. They last played on Tuesday night against the Islanders, winning that game 3 to 1 and moving back to 2-points out of a playoff spot. Puck drops at 7pm at the KeyBank Center.

Also on ice this weekend is the 12th Annual Labatt Blue Pond Hockey Tournament. Friday through Sunday, Buffalo RiverWorks will be home to the over 130 teams across 17 different divisions. Sign up to play or join thousands of spectators for the games. Also there will be Sabres alumni appearances, live music, and plenty of food.

Saturday at KeyBank Center, the Bandits take on the Calgary Roughnecks. They beat Georgia last Saturday, which puts the Bandits ahead in the standings. Buffalo is now 7-2 at the halfway point of the regular season. Saturday's game is at 7:30pm.

MUSIC: 

Grammy-nominated singer, Josh Groban is at Fallsview Casino Resort on Friday and Saturday night. Groban has thrilled fans across the globe with his multi-platinum albums, live performances, film and television appearances. Expect to hear favorites such as "You Raise Me Up", "Bring Him Home", and "Evermore". Both shows start at 9pm.

Buffalo's very own Brian McKnight is in town this weekend at the Seneca Niagara Resort and Casino. McKnight may best be known for classic R&B hits such as "Back At One", "One Last Cry", and "6,8,12", but he is also a talented musician who plays nine instruments, and has collaborate with performers across many genres... like Justin Timberlake, Maria Carey, Rascal Flatts, and Kenny G. The show starts at 8pm on Saturday.

THEATRE: 

Parents get your kids ready for a race to the rescue with Paw Patrol Live. The Nickelodeon show is coming to the Shea's Buffalo Theatre. Showtimes are Friday at 6pm, Saturday at 10am, 2pm and 6pm, and Sunday at 10am and 2pm. 

At MusicalFare Theatre, the 1998 Tony Award winner, Ragtime, is on stage. Showtimes are tonight at 7:30pm, Saturday at 3:30pm and 7:30pm and Sunday at 2pm. The show runs through March 13th.

EVENTS: 

At the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center it's "soups on" with the 9th Annual Buffalo Soup Fest.  Bring your friends and sample over 75 different soups from over 30 restaurants. It runs from from 11am to 6pm on Sunday. Tickets are 5 dollars at the door or you can purchase tickets online at www.buffalosoupfest.com

You can continue see the world's most elaborate display of LEGO art ever. "The Art of the Brick" presented by M&T Bank continues at the Buffalo Museum of Science this weekend. The exhibit runs through May 5th. 

MLK Junior Park has a great event to help the kids stay active. It's the BlueCross BlueShield's Fearless February. It kicks off Saturday from 11am to 1pm, with the MLK Junior Park Basin officially opening for the skating season. In addition to being on the ice, there will also be indoor and outdoor activities planned for that afternoon,  such as face painting, balloon art, and refreshments. This event is free and open to the public.

On Saturday, head out to Old Fort Niagara for their Winter Woods Battle. Check out demonstrations of weaponry, fur trading, shelter building, fire starting, winter games, artisans, and snowshoeing. It all begins at 10am.
