BUFFALO, N.Y. — The American Lung Association Fight For Air Climb Buffalo became a Virtual event and successfully raised over $168,000 for lung disease research and the American Lung Association COVID-19 Action Initiative.
Participants in the Virtual Fight for Air Climb started logging activity June 11th - July 11th. Every step counted whether they walked thier neighborhood, favorite trail or park. Participants fundraised by asking friends and family to donate to thier virtual "Climb". Teams and participants posted photos and videos on social media with #FightForAirClimb.
Congratulations to the top teams; Civilian Club and Robert Basil Cadillac Firefighter Challenge Club for their total activity tracked from June 11 to July 11! Together, they tracked over 1,320 hours over the past month!
The Fight for Air Climb is the American Lung Associations signature fundraising event. The Lung Association just launched the COVID-19 Action Initiative, a comprehensive $25M initiative to end COVID-19 and defend against future respiratory virus pandemics.This initiative will be used to fund respiratory research, enhance key public health measures through education and advocacy, and establish an advanced network of public and private entities to develop new vaccines, detection tests and treatment therapies, to stop future respiratory virus pandemics.
