At the busy roundabout of Buffalo and Main Streets in Hamburg sits a restaurant that is stacking a classic American food: the hamburger.
But don't be fooled. This is not your average burger joint.
"We aren't just the standard burger bar," said Heather Williams, Juicy Burger Bar's general manager.
Juicy Burger Bar is stepping up the burger game in the 'Burg with one never-frozen, always-fresh, flat-top-grilled patty at a time.
"They are fresh and they are grilled to order," Williams said. "A lot of people think that we are a fast food place, which we are not. We are a sit-down, enjoy yourself, relaxed environment."
From their menu, you can pick from a number of creative combinations with even more creative names.
There is the "Hogzilla Burger" with smoked bacon, whiskey BBQ, cheese and an onion ring. There is the "Yolks on You" with an egg and Tabasco sauce. Or you could pick the "Chuck Norris Roundhouse" with red onion jam and blue cheese.
There's a Western New York burger, too. It's called the "Weck yo self" of course.
"That's topped with Swiss cheese and our house made horseradish aioli with a 'Weck roll," Williams said.
There is an homage to our Canadian neighbors, as well.
"So the Poutine Burger is our house burger," Williams said. "It's topped with our fresh cut fries and then we have mozzarella curd that comes in from Buffalo Cheese Traders and that's melted on top of the fries. And then it's smothered in our house made gravy on a Brioche bun."
Before the burger, there are appetizers. The Burger Bar features backwards wings, which are wings tossed in blue cheese with hot sauce on the side.
They also have house cut sweet potato fries, regular fries or chili cheese fries.
The have a full bar, too, with locally sourced beer.
"We carry two from Hamburg Brewing Company," Williams said. "Big Ditch is always on tap and also Great Lakes. We like to pay it forward and treat our friends like we want to be treated. We really do value local businesses and we like to keep it that way."
Juicy Burger Bar is open for lunch and dinner every day but Mondays. Kids eat free with the purchase of an adult meal on Sundays.
