Everyone who attended the six-hour event was encouraged to wear their costumes.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A family-friendly event for Halloween was held Saturday.

The "BOOtanical" celebration and workshops welcomed kids and their families inside the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens for hands-on activities, such as making a mosaic with fall leaves and a spooky succulent garden class.

Everyone who attended was encouraged to wear their costumes.

The six-hour event gave children and families the opportunity to create Halloween-themed crafts at activity stations scattered throughout the Botanical Gardens.
