Ron Plants is a Weekend Anchor - Reporter at WGRZ-TV in Buffalo, NY who handles general assignment reporting and Tipline stories for Channel 2.
Ron started at WGRZ-TV just before Halloween and that may explain his unique perspective and observations which he provides during his weekend newscasts on Channel 2.
He is originally from suburban Philadelphia and is a Temple University graduate. But he now considers Western New York as his home.
Ron has worked for a CBS radio station in Philadelphia and then started on the TV side in Harrisburg, Pa. He also worked in Rochester at WHEC-TV before making that move to Buffalo.
He now anchors the weekend newscasts at 6 and 11 on Saturdays and Sundays and then reports for the weekday newscasts. He feels that is a great combination for a broadcast journalist. Ron also follows through on Tipline stories for 2 On Your Side.
As for his off time, Ron enjoys reading and model railroading. Activities include hiking, cross country skiing.
