BUFFALO, N.Y. — Danielle Church is a multiskilled journalist and weekend daybreak producer at WGRZ in Buffalo, N.Y.
She joined the 2 on Your Side team in November 2019.
Danielle was born in Delaware, but grew up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. She attended DePaul University, where she was involved in the student newspaper, broadcast station, SPJ and the Center for Journalism Integrity and Excellence.
During her time in the Windy City, Danielle also interned at “Chicago’s very own” WGN. After graduation, Danielle spent about two and a half years as a multimedia journalist and weekend anchor/producer for KVRR-TV in Fargo, North Dakota. So in other words, she’s more than ready for Buffalo winters and more than happy to trade in -40 temps.
While in Fargo, Danielle covered several major stories including the case of a kidnapping and murder of a 22-year-old pregnant woman, President Trump and VP Pence’s visit to Fargo and one of the closest watch Senate races in the country between Kevin Cramer and Heidi Heitkamp.
Danielle also won an AP award for a piece she did on human trafficking in the Red River Valley. But it’s always been the stories that help her get to know other people that she has loved the most. Some of her most memorable stories include a 32-year-old woman with cerebral palsy who created a commercial for Apple, an Amish man who ran away from Wisconsin to North Dakota as a teen and meeting a bunch of amazing veterans and getting to tell their stories after an honor flight to Washington, D.C.
Other than storytelling, Danielle is an avid lover of fitness, food (especially pizza), music, traveling and coffee shops.
