WNY Weather: Seasonal Outlook

BUFFALO, NY - Channel 2 News meteorologist Jennifer Stanonis has this long-range forecast for New York's western region:

We have some warmer days to look forward to. Temperatures are increasing and Lake Erie's ice cover is melting at last.

The long-range forecast is showing an overall decent next several months ahead. Latest models by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) are showing the rest of spring may have near normal temperatures and precipitation.

As for summer, it will start out normal but then finish with warmer-than-average temperatures. And the warmth could last right through fall!

At this point, precipitation looks to be around average.

It's clearly an improvement from the past several cold and snowy months.
