BUFFALO, NY-- A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Cattaraugus, Allegany, Wyoming, Genesee and Orleans counties from 6pm Wednesday night until 10am Thursday morning.
An area of showers is approaching from the west, and with cool air in place, some of the showers this evening may mix in with some freezing rain, sleet or snow making for some slippery roads, especially away from Lake Erie.
Along the Lake Erie shore, it will likely be warm enough for simply rain. However, once you head inland cooler air trapped in some of our valleys will allow the transition to sleet and freezing rain. As the showers continue into Thanksgiving Day, temperatures will warm turning everything back over to light rain in the risk of icy roads will diminish significantly.
