Wind advisory for parts of WNY

BUFFALO,NY-  A wind advisory is in effect for parts of Western New York from 2pm today until 1am Friday.

The counties include Erie, Niagara, Genesee and Orleans counties. Southwest winds in the 25 to 35 mph range will increase this afternoon with some gusts up to 45 and perhaps 50 miles an hour this evening.

These kind of winds can blow yard objects around and even some small branches, but this does not look to be like a widespread high wind event. Overnight winds will subside a bit but they will still be gusty. The wind direction  will be coming out of the north tomorrow, bringing cooler air Friday morning.
