Frontier Airlines to launch service from Buffalo

Frontier Airline to Start Flying Out of Buffalo-Niagara Int'l Airport

BUFFALO,  N.Y. — A new airline has announced it is coming to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, and bringing with it the opportunity for fliers to take advantage of low fares.

Frontier Airlines says it is coming to the airport and will offer service to Denver, Colorado and several cities in Florida, including Miami, Fort Myers, Orlando, and Tampa with Airbus A320 family aircraft.

The airline says it will celebrate its new service in Buffalo and in 21 new cities with fares as low as around $39 for certain flights.

“We are pleased to welcome Frontier to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport family,” said Kimberley Minkel, executive director at the NFTA in a statement. “Our aviation team, led by William Vanecek, did a tremendous job working with Frontier to make this happen, and now Western New Yorkers will have more choices when they travel to these very popular destinations.”

"The Buffalo market is very attractive to Frontier because it opens up a part of the country that we have not previously served, which is WNY and parts of Southern Ontario. There's clearly a lot of demand here, and it's also suffered for some time from generally high fares which makes it an attractive choice for us among the other cities we looked at in the region," says Robert Westgate with Frontier Airlines.
