The Sabres continue to evaluate their young talent as resume a five game road trip Thursday night at Edmonton.

Along those lines, head coach Ted Nolan says the plan is to start Matt Hackett in net. Hackett was called up from AHL Rochester on Monday in the midst of injuries to goaltenders Jhonas Enroth and Michal Neuvirth.

Nathan Lieuwen made his first career start Tuesday night at Calgary, stopping 23-shots in a 3-1 loss.

Nolan says the hope is to have Neuvirth back for Sunday's game at Vancouver.
