BUFFALO, N.Y. - Many fans would agree that the Bills have bumbled on the field this pre-season. The team is also dealing with a bumble involving hats at the new team store at Ralph Wilson Stadium.

Fan Joe Schieve of Binghamton bought a hat at the store while attending Thursday night's pre-season finale against the Detroit Lions. He put it in a bag and didn't wear it until the next morning. But his wife noticed something peculiar on it, and Joe took to Twitter to let the world know about the mistake involving the Bills and their hated AFC East rivals, the New England Patriots.

Scott Berchtold, the Bills Vice President of Communications, responded to the error. In an email to WGRZ he wrote: "We worked with Delaware North to have the items removed from the shelves and it appears that it was only a couple of hats. We apologize to any fans who were inconvenienced, including the individual who sent out the tweet. We have reached out to him via Twitter and asked him for his contact information so that we can send him a new hat."

We also reached out to Peter Augustine, President at cap maker New Era, who said in an email: "We are aware of the situation and will do whatever is necessary to rectify the mistake."

As for Joe, he says he's still a big Bills fan and has been in touch with the team about getting a new hat. You can listen to his full phone interview with WGRZ in the video clip above.
