BUFFALO, NY-- Former Buffalo Bills Quarterback Jim Kelly got a special visitor in New York City Friday.
His youngest daughter, Cameron, arrived in NYC to see her dad.
Kelly is in NYC for treatment of an aggressive form of cancer that's in his maxillary sinus. Kelly will be undergoing chemotherapy and radiation.
Jim's wife Jill has been updating everyone on Jim's status via social media.
On Friday, we spoke with Pastor Gills, Jim Kelly's pastor at the Chapel at Crosspoint.
Jim's pastor at the Chapel at Crosspoint, Pastor Gill, says faith is something he has addressed in recent sermons.
Meanwhile, a gala benefit and charity auction was held to support Hunter's Hope -- the advocacy group that wants to expand screening of newborns for early detection of disease. Friday evening's event began with the reading of a poem dedicated to the couple who started all this after their little son Hunter died from Krabbe disease much too soon.
Cynthia and Tom Rosicki, whose law firm hosted the gala, shared a portion of the poem with us, just as they shared it with the Kelly family in Jim's New York City hospital room.
