GLENS FALLS, N.Y.- Anytime you have a sophomore throw an eight-inning no hitter in a state championship game, you're in good shape.

Eden High School sophomore Jill Murray did not surrender a hit as the Raiders beat Solvay, 1-0, in eight innings to win the NY Class B State Championship on Saturday.

Murray had two of the best games of her career when it mattered most. Not only did she keep the other team off the scoreboard, Murray was responsible for the only RBI of the title game. That performance followed the state semifinals, when she scored the go-ahead run in Eden's victory.

It is the first state title for Eden softball in school history.

Joining Eden in the champions circle, Williams South High School crushed Sayville 21-4 in the NY Class A State Championship for softball.

Clarence High School fell to East Meadow 3-0 in the state semis.
