BUFFALO, N.Y.-Jamestown and Clarence will play for the Section 6 Class AA championship Saturday night at Buffalo State College.

Clarence beat Wiliamsville North 49-39 in the first game of the night. Ryan Funk led Clarence with 20 points. North was led by Sterling Taplin with 18.

In the nightcap Jamestown rallied to beat Lockport 69-58. Red Raiders head coach Ben Drake told Two On Your Side's Stu Boyar "it was a great game, a great high school basketball game. It was a battle, a battle all game. I thought we showed a lot of poise and character during the game. Lockport went on a couple of runs and fortunately we just made the plays in the fourth quarter."

Jamestown outscored the Lions 22-to-8 in the fourth quarter.

Just before halftime Jamestown senior Quinn Lee Yaw launched a shot from almost underneath his own basket. It brought down the house when it went in and cut the Lions lead to one at halftime. Drake told Stu "the prayer was answered. It was a desparation shot that went down. We ended the half well. We were down in the second quarter but ended the half on a good note. Lockport came out real strong in the third quarter and took the momentum back. We called a time out and regrouped and made a run ourselves after that.

For Jamestown it is the fifth straight year they are in the Class AA finals.

Yaw had 21 points and 12 rebounds. Zack Panebianco had 26 points and six assists. Colin Dougherty had 26 points for Lockport.

Tipoff for the game is scheduled for 8:15 Saturday night..
