AMHERST, N.Y.-The St. Joe's Federation Hockey team improved their record on the season to 10-9-0-1 with a "signature victory," 5 to 1 over Clarence on Monday afternoon at the Northtowns Center in Amherst. Leading the way for the Marauders was senior Nick Zenger with 2 goals and 1 assist. Senor Paul LoVullo and sophomore Matthew Barnaby Jr. recorded two assists each. Senior Peter Chopra played well in the nets making 15 saves.

The Marauders got on the board midway through the first period when Zenger scored on a rebound. The senior fought his way to the front of the net, found the loose puck and scored after a dominating shift with linemates junior Dom Perna and Barnaby. With 2:18 remaining in the period, senior John Schmitt scored on the powerplay when he took a quick shot from the point that found the back on the net. Paul LoVullo assisted. Early in the second, the Marauders made it 3-0, once again on the powerplay when Barnaby found junior Matt Ruggiero in front. Ruggiero's quick shot from in front went directly into the net. With two minutes remaining in the second, Bassett scored on the powerplay when his quick shot from the slot went five-hole. Senior Brad Kaminski and Zenger assisted. After Clarence cut the score to 4 to 1, St. Joe's scored it's fourth goal on the powerplay when Zenger made a beautiful tip in front off of Harlan LoVullo's quick shot. St. Joe's outshot Clarence 28 to 16. The Marauders, winner of 4 games in a row have had an offensive outburst scoring 24 goals in the 4 victories.

On Thursday evening at 9 p.m St. Joe's take on Williamsville North on the Feature Rink. They conclude their week on Sunday at 5pm when they play St. Francis at North Buffalo.
