AMHERST, N.Y.-Canisius beat Williamsville North 3-2 in overtime Saturday afternoon at the Northtown Center in Amherst.

It was the first crack at win number 400 for Spartans head coach Bob Rosen.

The game was tied at one after two periods. The teams traded chances throughout the third period. Finally with 2:06 remaining in the third period the Crusaders scored to take the lead. As the teams battled for the puck along the boards in the North zone # 19 Elliot Crimmen came away with the puck. He fired a wrist shot from the top of the circle that beat sophomore goaltender Matthew Ladd. The Crusaders lead was shortlived.

The Spartans tied it with just 33 seconds remaining in the third period. Senior # 7 Bryce Ferrell was left alone out in front and he buried the tieing goal to send to the game into overtime.

Canisius got the game winning goal at 3:36 of overtime. Ladd stopped a shot but couldn't corral the rebound. The puck just lay there in front of the net. After what seemed like forever the Crusaders # 20 Joe Mancuso scored to give Canisius a thrilling 3-2 overtime victory over North.
