BUFFALO, N.Y.-As Western New York continues to get pounded by the blizzard of 2014, once again there are no high school events that will be played on Tuesday, January 7. Brian Kiszewski from the Monsignor Martin High School Athletic Association told Stu Boyar via email that "tomorrow could be a challenge as well." No doubt that applies for everyone in Western New York.
Timm Slade is the executive director of Section 6. He told Stu that when it comes to cancelling or postponing athletic events safety comes first. "Ultimately the decision is up to the school district and the superintendent. Safety is the number one priority, period. And I know that's what they base their decision on when they have to cancel or reschedule an athletic contest."
Slade said there is time built into the schedule later this month and in February to reschedule games.
