TONAWANDA, N.Y.-Monday night at Cardinal O'Hara the Hawks got off to a great start against Holland but wound up holding on for a two point 49-47. In the first quarter the Hawks built a 20-4 lead but the Dutchmen rallied to make a game out of it.

Hawks coach Dave Pfohman told Two On Your Side's Stu Boyar "give them credit. They played a great second half. On the other hand and I mean no disrespect to Holland, we didn't play up to par in the second half. Coach Tim Schulz did a great job."

Holland's Clay Lewis led all scorers with 23 points for Holland. O'Hara's Zack Glowacki led his team with 15 points while Donel Cathcart had 14 for O'Hara.

It was the season opener for Holland. O'Hara is 2-1 and will play JFK in the Pastor/Cooper tournament Wednesday night at Daemen.
