LEWISTON, N.Y.- Brooke Henderson was the favorite entering the 2014 Women's Porter Cup and she proved why when it mattered most.

The Smith Falls, Ontario native is the third ranked female amateur in the world. She shot four over par in the first round at Niagara Falls Country Club and three under par in the second round. But, Henderson put on a clinic in the final round.

Henderson trailed first and second round leader Jennifer Ha entering the final day. Ha was -8. Henderson was +1.

Ha struggled on Friday, which allowed Henderson to roar back. Henderson finished -9 in the final round. -8 for the tournament.

Henderson is the champion of the 2nd Annual Women's Porter Cup.

Of the 12 locals competing in the event, Clarence native Cat Peters had the lowest final score of -10.
